We are Adelaide owned & operated and employ approximately 20 young and “not so young” South Australians. We provide electrical services for your home and your business, as well as servicing many of Adelaide’s Property and Strata Management organisations.

Josh the electrician and his apprentice were very professional and did a great job with quite a few electrical jobs that needed doing around the house. The apprentice even vaccumed up debris on kitchen bench, did a good job and I appreciate that. I did have an issue the next day, which Josh came back same day I called, very prompt and fixed issue. Energy Efficient LED Downlight
In response to the need for greater energy efficient lighting in the home, BMS Electrical Services now offers Thorn energy efficient LED downlights to replace your existing halogen downlights. LED downlights are up to 80% more efficient than traditional halogen downlights which means significant savings on your home electricity bill. They also do not create heat and thus reduce the risk of fire in your home roof space.
What does LED stand for and how does it work?
LEDs are the most efficient lights on the market. LED stands for light emitting diode, a diode is an electrical component with two terminals which conduct the electricity only in one direction. With an electrical current, the diode emits a bright light around the small bulb.
LEDs offer many benefits:
LEDs are extremely efficient and require very little current to illuminate. Since they do not have a filament, LEDs do not heat up and thus reduce the risk of fire in the roof space of your home. As LEDs do not create heat, they are extremely energy efficient as opposed to traditional globes where sometimes more than 80% of the electricity used is wasted not in light, but in heat.
LEDs have a longer life and thus maintenance costs are lower.
LEDs are solid state devices and thus have no moving parts, this makes them more durable and reliable.
